In November, I started working out with a new trainer and told him I had the specific goal of being able to run a mile. He told me I was setting my sights too low. I thought he was being a little over-zealous. Now I'm happy to admit to being wrong. Rob not only helped me get to run a mile, but got me to run an entire 5K (3.106 miles) straight.
On Saturday, the DH and I ran the Valentine's Day Dash around Greenlake in Seattle.
In the picture, the DH is the one with the number on his leg and I'm in the green jacket and pink ball cap right behind him.
Finishing the race without walking even one step was one of the best feelings I've ever had. I'm thrilled that I have achieved the first part of my goal, or rather achieved the greater goal that my trainer put in place. Soon I'll be easily swimming a half mile and biking 12 miles without a thought. I will be a triathlete. And that will feel even better than the 5K.
